Monster sex is having an unlikely moment, from enormous novelty toys to demonic romance novels to the strangest of dungeon fantasies. Meanwhile, supernatural mythology throughout history and around the globe is an immortal method for working through cultural anxieties about our taboo desires.

This goth season, allow Tina Horn — dominatrix, horror writer, and fetish expert — to corrupt you with her underworld of depraved pleasure. We’ll undercover the horny appeal of many monstrous entities, from the glamorous draw of blood-suckers to the technological innovations of the “mad” scientist, as well as witchy potions, mind-controllers, deceptive shape-shifters, bimbos dolls, giantess Mommies, killer cannibals, rough and tumble werewolves, sensual sirens, shape-shifters, ghosts, zombies, aliens, and many more. We’ll have fun contemplating supernatural ethics: Would you bone your clone? Would getting drained by a succubus or bred by an ovipositor be a dream come true? Is it wrong to use time travel as a seduction technique? And yeah, we’ll talk tentacles!

Each session will feature a high energy lecture followed by discussion breakout groups (with participation encouraged but not required). We’ll also welcome some special guests from the world of fetish subcultures!

Tina is known for her entertaining classes that are as funny as they are theoretical, accessible as they are profound, campy as they are personal. We’re always sex work positive, anti-racist, queer inclusive, and open to people of all relationship styles and gender identities.

• Why a Monster Smash intensive?

  Monster Sex has become a specialty of mine since the COVID era, when the horror show of existence became everybody’s business. Shortly thereafter, I developed an intense disability that greatly affected my quality of life and ability to maintain conventional employment. Running my own classes over Zoom helps me to connect with my students without stressing as much about financial insecurity. At the intersection of my literary scholarship, my devotion to fetish sex, and my lifelong fandom of schlocky frightfests is a fascination with the the excitement of monstrosity. I’m finding that we feel a lot better about the hardest things in life when we just let them turn us on already. I’ve developed a whole lot of techniques for sensual shadow work, erotic entertainment, and abject arousal. I wanna spread ‘em around!
