Why Are People Into That? The Book is in bookstores everywhere!

Why Are People Into That? A Cultural Investigation of Kink is available NOW in hardcover, ebook, and audiobook (read by me!)!

From spanking, strap-ons, and sluts, to taboos involving cake, chains, and cannibalism, WHY ARE PEOPLE INTO THAT? explores the universal drives that shape even the most specific erotic tastes, and the cultural context that molds and is molded by the way we conceptualize pleasure, gender, fantasy, and power. With buoyant prose, Tina invites us to reconsider everything we thought we knew about sexuality. How, for example, should we think about "consensual nonconsent" in a post-#MeToo era? How does cross-dressing fit in with our evolving cultural understanding of gender performance and identity? And what do foot fetishists, fisters, and FinDoms have in common?

Blending insightful cultural criticism, investigative journalism, and spicy anecdotes from Tina’s 15+ years of hard-earned expertise in the sex industry and beyond, WHY ARE PEOPLE INTO THAT? is a philosophical-but-fun exploration of the prismatic spectrum of human desire and the expansive possibilities of pleasure. For fans of adrienne maree brown and Emily Nagoski, this raunchy and rousing book is perfect for anyone who is interested not only in the intricacies of what we desire, but in how desire itself really works.

Deprog Vol 1 In Stores!

Tina Horn, Lisa Sterle, Gab Contreras, Dani Strips

Dead Sky Publishing, Sep 24, 2024 - Comics & Graphic Novels - 112 pages

https://deadskypublishing.com/portfolio-item/deprog/

Deprog is a new detective thriller from Tina Horn (SfSx) and Lisa Sterle (Witchblood) that' s John Constantine meets Jessica Jones with a kinky Midsommar twist. Meet Tate Debs, a hardboiled hard drinking leather loving dyke detective with an office in the back of Los Angeles' s last video store. Tate specializes in rescuing and deprogramming people from abusive groups with extreme beliefs -- like the one Tate herself escaped, that believed in inter-dimensional travel and taboo ritual sex. When a femme named Vera, who may just be fatale, hires Tate to infiltrate a group of mystical hippies out in the desert, she must decide if Vera' s charms are worth being re-traumatized. Soon, Tate must face her past out of devotion to the femme she may be falling for... and a single minded drive to avenge her family.

Obscenesters: Times Square Red Times Square Blue

The Obscenesters Book Club meets to discuss TIMES SQUARE RED, TIMES SQUARE BLUE by Samuel Delany, hosted by Tina Horn!

Order Online Here.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

In the two decades that preceded the original publication of Times Square Red, Times Square Blue, Forty-second Street, then the most infamous street in America, was being remade into a sanitized tourist haven. In the forced disappearance of porn theaters, peep shows, and street hustlers to make room for a Disney store, a children’s theater, and large, neon-lit cafes, Samuel R. Delany saw a disappearance, not only of the old Times Square, but of the complex social relationships that developed there.

Samuel R. Delany bore witness to the dismantling of the institutions that promoted points of contact between people of different classes and races in a public space, and in this hybrid text, argues for the necessity of public restrooms and tree-filled parks to a city's physical and psychological landscape.

This twentieth anniversary edition includes a new foreword by Robert Reid-Pharr that traces the importance and continued resonances of Samuel R. Delany’s groundbreaking Times Square Red, Times Square Blue.

CNC Intensive

This October, do something that frightens you!

Learn how to get what you crave from human connection, pleasure, and power using the intensity of CNC play.

Take a deep dive into seemingly paradoxical yet profoundly vital kink concept of consensual non-consent (CNC). Whether you’re someone who entertains fantasies of force and surrender, or you simply believe that liberation for all can only emerge through collective grappling with eros, gender, and power, this intensive is for you.

Spots are limited so snag yours today!

Nitty Gritty

Three Tuesdays, 4pm-5:30pm PST, 90 minutes sessions via Zoom

October 8th, 15th, & 22nd, 2024

Every session will be an hour long presentation followed by half hour facilitated group discussion and Q&A

Sessions will be recorded (excluding group discussion to ensure discretion and open conversation): video and slideshow will be accessible after each session.

Sign up before September 30th to get an additional $50 off a one-on-one coaching session with Tina!

There will also be an in-person Meet and Greet discussion: location in North East LA will be revealed to folks who have signed up.

>>> SIGN UP HERE! <<<

Reviews of past workshops:

“I love Tina. She is so affable and comfortable to be around as well as funny and knowledgeable. I like that she always notes privilege and race in her classes.”

“I found Tina through researching my own sexuality, kinks, and fetishes. Her perspective and her work has really helped me personally and enriched my life for the better.”

“I loved the careful framing and context Tina gave! Sometimes it’s harder to talk about dark fantasies, but Tina created a positive space.”

FAQ:

What does it cost and what do I get?

$250 gets you access to all three live sessions and recordings, plus slideshow material, further reading, and group discussion. Anyone who signs up in September also gets $50 off a one on one coaching session with me!

There will also be an in-person Meet and Greet discussion session at a secret location in Northeast Los Angeles. Space is limited to facilitate an intimate discussion, so this portion is only available for the first ten SoCal-based students to sign up for this course. The Meet and Greet is $25 and will be available as an Add-On at check out.

Who is this intensive for?

Pervs and pros. The curious and the inquisitive. Tops, bottoms, and switches. All genders. Seasoned players will get tons of new skills and insight. Newbies are welcome, too: a Tina Horn Guide to BDSM Basics PDF will be sent out before class so we can assume familiarity with certain terms and how I define them within leather lineage.

My classes center queer leather experience and are designed to be equally useful for personal and professional play. My classes are always anti-racist and anti-fascist. I’m an experienced facilitator; community agreements will be clear, and disrespectful behavior will be dealt with ruthlessly.

What if I want to take this course but I can’t make the times?

Click the option for recording: for $125 all three lectures will be sent to you after the live session (discussion and Q&A component not included). If you sign up before September 30th, you’ll also get $25 towards an hour-long coaching session with Tina, so you can get the interaction you crave.

Why a CNC intensive?

CNC has been one of my most popular workshop and podcast topics over the past five-ten years. Even after writing a 10K word chapter on it for my new book Why Are People Into That: A Cultural Investigation of Kink, I’m still discovering new intellectual and emotional complexities to this controversial subject.

So I decided to offer a three part intensive: part lecture, part group discussion. We will cover consent politics, relationship ethics, cultural history, and erotic fantasy with a harm reduction framework.

This intensive is for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of CNC and kink desire, boundaries, negotiation, communication, fantasy, archetypes, aftercare, and much more!

Every time I teach this workshop I feel like I’m only scratching the surface. And there seems to be a hunger for this topic. I trust we’ll figure out why together!

What if I’m curious about CNC but the intensive cost doesn’t work for me?

With twenty years’ experience as a professional dominatrix, adult filmmaker, journalist, intimacy coach, BDSM consultant, and sexuality workshop leader, I feel confident about the value of this price. I’m a queer woman and small business owner who has learned the hard way to ask for what I need and want, which I hope is leading by example for the topic of this class. I am offering some sliding scale spots to QTPOC and SWers; if that’s you, please message me (tinahornshowbiz at gmail dot com) for a discount code. If this isn’t you, and you want to negotiate, message me; you may have something else that I want. ;)

What is the focus of the three sessions?

Oct 8: What is CNC and Why Are People Into That?!

Oct 15: CNC Scene Ideas and Dirty Talk

Oct 22: The Evolving Politics and Ethics of CNC

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Wylie Kogan is an aspiring artist, stumping for work in 1963 California. When a fawning fan letter grants him access to his cartoonist hero, the wealthy and celebrated Joseph Ahlstrom, he’s quick to take advantage of a proffered portfolio review . . . but winds up learning more than he ever wanted to about Joe when he stumbles across some of his idol’s illicit fetish art.

His hasty, ill-considered theft of a drawing triggers a series of events he never planned on . . . most of which involve Joseph’s imposing and resolute partner, Roya.

This universally-lauded erotic classic of poly femdom, originally published in black and white, is now available in brilliant FULL COLOR!

Kinky Dirty Talk Workshop

Dirty talk and sexual communication are challenging for all people, but kinksters and queers in particular have an imperative to work on these skills. Language in relation to gender, bodies, sex acts, and identity has the potential to be triggering, empowering or re-claiming for queers and those who love them. The more we know how to communicate desires and boundaries, and know what to consider, the more fun we can have with our mouths opened AND closed!

Join professional smack talker Tina Horn as we share basic tools for great dirty talk and discuss the importance of desire and boundary communication for kinky play. You will gain something from this class whether or not you identify as kinky and/or queer, and regardless of your gender.

Refreshments will be available at 4:30pm prior to the workshop.
